This is a place for Cruisers, sailors, and wannabes to come and witness owning an older Columbia 50 sailing boat. Yes I am insane enough to do almost all of my maintenance myself. I am currently in a major rebuild of the boat right now including fuel system, engine, transmission, prop, exhaust, AC, refrigerator, freezer, 12V and 110V electrical, solar, wind, and communications. Most of the cabinets and some of the flooring is getting replaced.
It's slow and at times frustrating. But very rewarding most of the time. I have learned more about engineering and physics than I ever knew existed before I owned a cruising sail boat.
