life gets in the way
When you are tied to shore life seems to get in the way. All kinds of demands on my time that I keep allowing to interfere with my maintenance schedule. Work, family, friends it all adds up sneaking time away until you look back and see how little you have accomplished. They all seem like great requests. And I know I will miss family and friends a lot on longer trips. I am just saying that it seems so easy to budget time while out cruising and so difficult while connected to land.
I finally bought the router I have been eying for a while. A Ryobi RE180PL1. In English that is a 2hp plunge router. I wanted a plunge router because I want to do some lettering. Man I have missed having a router. it makes working with wood so much more precise. Perfect 90 degree corners, perfectly straight cuts. Smooth, almost no sanding needed. Man I am loving this. I can finally do the quality of work I wanted to do. I can fit two odd shaped pieces together perfectly. And we all know boats are full of odd shapes that fit precisely. I can finish off the head now. And I actually look forward to doing it now that I can do it right.
I still have the long run of old exhaust to remove from the boat. It is being stubbon. It has sat in the boat and slowly molded to the shapes. And now it doesn’t want to come out. it keeps jamming in place. I will find a way to get it out soon.
