Head screws
Today I finally found the right screws to hold the head down. It has been a while of sitting carefully on the head while I make sure everything is working properly. I am still not happy with the salt (flush) water connection. I think I will take it apart and silicone it as I assemble it. That should stop the air getting in. But it is time to secure the head properly and put the shower in. I am very close to having fresh water again and I am in a mood to want it all. I want to take a shower on my boat if I want to. Although with the moisture a shower puts into the boat, honestly I don’t shower on the boat much at the dock.
I am looking at replacing my solar fan in the head. This one although it as only $20 less than the Nicore it shure is cheap. It quit running off batteries after only 6 months. Changing the nicad batteries did nothing. If I fully charge a pair of batteries the fan will run for a day. Then go back to only running when the sun is directly overhead. So I suspect the charging circuit. I will replace it with a Nicore and get a second nicore solar vent for the galley. Both will be exhaust fans. I have plenty of places where air gets in so I am not worried yet. I have plans to replace the hatch boards with non vented ones for ocean cruising and then I will add a third solar fan blowing into the v-berth.
If anyone has good or bad comments about fresh / salt water pumps I would really enjoy the comments. I am looking to buy two matched pumps. One for fresh water and one for salt water washdown and anchor chain rinse. That way if I loose my fresh water pump I can just swap them and still have fresh water. Sort of a built in spare.

My boat came with 2 nicore vents and they are going strong after 4 years with only new batteries.
